Agm And Staff Changes.
On Tuesday 2nd November the Annual General Meeting was held a Woodingdean school; the meeting was chaired by John Legon and for an AGM was well attend, as usual there was a shuffle of the pack with regards to committee members and general staff.
With David Pope continuing as Corps Director, John Norris (pictured) has taken the vacant position of Vice Chairman after many years serving as Parents Representative, the position of Parents Rep has been filled by John Jasper, who’s son Sam is one of the founding mem
bers of the academy, for those unaware of the Parents Rep function, he is the first point of contact for any parent with concerns or issues that they would like the committee to address and also to clarify any information publish by the committee when required.
In the same area Chris Francis has stepped down from the Staff Representative position that he has held for three years, to allow him to concentrate his efforts on the new Winter Drumline program and Main Corps activities as well as the constant burden of being the creator of almost all of Auroras art work. Chris will be replaced by Ashley Beard a member of the main brass line and brass staff for the academy.
Another vacancy was created by Kev Woodhams, again stepping down from the Corps Managers position having already retired once, and having temporarily refilled this position during the summer of 2006 to steady the ship. Kev will stay active in corps work as the man with no portfolio, he is being replaced as Corp Manager by Sandy Colwell, whose last position with the corps was a few years ago as vice chair of the fund raising committee, Sandy’s daughter is a member of the guard.
The Chairman would like to thank all members of the 2006 committee for their hard work and continued good humour in what turned out to be a difficult year and welcome the new members aboard, for what we hope will be a great season.
